Gouter

Bad eating habits have quietly slipped in the door at our house.  Lots of mindless snacking has led to lots of healthy food left on plates at mealtime.  So I have purchased this book from Amazon.

And the day it arrived, it disappeared.  Couldn't find it anywhere.  And then I started thinking like my child who is resistant to any change and realized he had hidden it somewhere.  Obviously, he realizes that mom is about to shake it up!!  While I do like the book and I'm taking notes, it would be more beneficial to moms of all young ones and because of that, its making me feel a bit behind the curve.

So to start, we will start with something small.  We are going to adopt the French snack time called gouter - one hefty afternoon snack - and- this is the hard part-  NO other snacking.  No grazing, no handful of chips, no mini ice-cream bowl, no string cheese, nothing aside from gouter (pronounced goo-tay).

If by chance you never hear from me again, know that I have either been locked in a closet by my children or death by lack of pretzels has occurred.  I am off now to make some muffins for our first gouter (and maybe our last!)
