Lets face it - no one likes this election. And as a mom, I'm disappointed. I normally love Presidential elections. I wanted to help my children learn about the process and pop a big bowl of popcorn to watch the debates. As it turned out, I wouldn't let them watch the debates. I didn't want them to think that the name-calling and bashing that became the sport of both sides was something that responsible, loving adults do.
I do want to share with you two beautiful children books that will hopefully help fill the void during this election season. How cute is this board book?!
It throws me off that its a board book but I love it anyway. It only highlights the 10 most popular Presidents, but it does have all of the Presidents illustrated on the last page.
This next book is very through in its description of the process of elections, the parties and the history behind voting.
This is a must have for any American household!
Be sure to vote tomorrow. Even if you're not loving the choices. It is a privilege to be part of the process. And in the end, our kids can at least learn to be responsible citizens.
